- Grumman Goose
First published in 2004, the Grumman Goose book tells the story of the small twin engined utility seaplane first designed in 1937 for 10 wealthy businessmen to replace their Loening Air Yachts. In U.S. service, the Army was the first to receive the Goose when they took delivery of 26 OA-9s in 1938. The U.S. Navy also received its first Goose in 1938. 205 would be acquired by the Navy as XJ3F-1/JRF-1/JRF-1A, JRF-4, JRF-5 & JRF-6s. The Marines acquired three and the Coast Guard 10 which were supplemented during the war with Navy Geese.
