- Astonishing Stories Pilots Tell Pilots
Most airplane pilots would rather fly than eat, but next to flying, pilots love a good bull session of stories with fellow pilots. In this book, you, whether a rated pilot or not, can enjoy a variety of yarns and tales (mostly true) that have been told by pilots for the enjoyment of other pilots.
With this book, anyone (regardless of his or her involvement in aviation) can experience a sense of what it is like being at the controls of everything from a Cessna to an SR-71. There are even some humorous quips from airline cabin attendants. The stories are laced with unabashed pilot jargon, and in the worst cases, definitions of those terms are included for the uninitiated. Most of these stories are in the teller's own words, and they carry the excitement, fear, or thrill of the flying situation.

Robert N. Pripps
Robert N. Pripps began his literary career writing sales proposals and test reports as an engineer in the aircraft business. After 30 years, Bob began a second career authoring 35 books about historic and collectable farm tractors. However, Bob's first love was flying, and he finally directed his efforts into this volume of stories about pilots that he collected. Bob began taking flying lessons when he was 16 years old, had his private pilot's license during his senior year of high school, and later acquired a commercial pilot's license with a multi-engine rating. Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University. He is married, and he and his wife have three sons.
